Since version 25.7.0, Planningboard includes an enhanced system for identifying and reporting script errors. This update helps administrators quickly pinpoint and fix issues in configuration scripts. This article enables you to understand how alerts are displayed using different views.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
How errors are displayed and communicated
Edit Mode (administrator view)
Planningboard displays a red warning triangle icon in the footer when a configuration or item script contains an error.
Hovering over the icon opens a detailed pop-up message showing:
- The exact error location and type (e.g., missing semicolon, undefined variable)
- The line number where the issue occurred
This improvement makes troubleshooting much faster compared to the old behavior.
Errors are also logged automatically in:
- Browser console - open it by right-clicking the page → Inspect → Console
- Server logs - contact your Polarion Administrator if you need access

View Mode (user view)
If a configuration or data-related issue affects Planningboard usage, users will see a warning triangle icon in the footer. This helps alert end users to potential configuration problems without breaking the view. The pop-up message does not include exact error details.
