The purpose of this guide:
- Explain the main sections visible on the Powersheet.
- Explain the main actions that you can do on the Powersheet: create/modify/delete/link/search WIs.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Sheet section
The main part of the Powersheet is an Excel-like table view, where it is possible to see, create, modify, link, and remove the data.
The set of columns and items visible in the sheet is the main configuration point of the sheet itself.
Depending on what types of data are shown on the Powersheet, different actions can be done with the cells and their values.
Toolbar
Above the table is a toolbar, which is divided into a few main sections.
1. Menu
The menu section contains a list of different actions that you can do with the sheet. Most of them are self-explanatory.
The most interesting property for admins would be "Configuration", which points to the pages with sheet and model configurations for the opened Powersheet.
2. Work Items tree
This view not only highlights the breakdown structure of the shown Work items, but also enables some extra actions that you can do with every specific WI.
The available actions:
![]() | Open WI in Polarion form |
![]() | Add new WI |
![]() | Unlink WI |
![]() | Delete WI |
3. Sort and Filter
Sort
Apart from the general sheet sorting defined in the configuration, it is possible to sort in both ascending and descending order based on the values from the selected column.
Filter
For any selected column, it is also possible to filter based on either a specific value or to define a filter condition.
Once the filter is enabled, the funnel icon highlights the column (or columns if multiple filters are enabled at the same time) that was used for the sheet filtering.
The additional funnel icon on the right also highlights how many rows out of the total are shown, as well as the fact that filters are applied.
To remove the filters, it is enough to click on the 'clear filter' button in the funnel. Alternatively, or if multiple filters need to be removed, it is possible to clear all filters at once from the Menu section.
4. Search
Find easily the cells with the specific content
5. Review changes (ON/OFF)
It allows for reviewing the changes before saving the made changes.
When toggled ON, the modified rows are focused, which makes it easy to spot and check all the unsaved changes before saving the sheet.
6. Views
Allows you to switch easily between different preconfigured column sets.
