Installing Nextedy POWERSHEET

The installation procedure of Nextedy POWERSHEET consists of two main steps:

1. Installing the plugin

2. Setting up the plugin in your Polarion environment

This process is nearly identical to other Nextedy products and takes just a few minutes.

1. Install the POWERSHEET Plugin

Prerequisite

• Download the distribution package from the Nextedy POWERSHEET Download page.

• Unpack the downloaded nextedy_powersheet.zip.

Deploy plugin files

1. Locate the folder:

com.nextedy.powersheet

1. Copy the entire folder into:

[POLARION_INSTALL]/polarion/extensions/

2. Delete cached configuration folders to avoid plugin conflicts:

[POLARION_DATA]/workspace/.config
[POLARION_DATA]/workspace/.metadata

3. (These folders only contain cached data; deleting them is safe and recommended by Polarion support.)

4. Restart the Polarion server.

Validate installation

• After restart, open Administration.

• You should see a new section called:

  NEXTEDY POWERSHEET

• This confirms that the plugin has been successfully installed.

2. Apply the License

Unlike some other Nextedy products, POWERSHEET licenses are managed directly in Administration:

1. Go to:

   Administration → Nextedy POWERSHEET → License

2. Drag & drop your license file, or select it from your filesystem.

3. Save and validate.

3. Set up POWERSHEET

You have two options to start working with Powersheet:

a) Create a Demo Project

1. Go to:

   Administration → Nextedy POWERSHEET → Setup

2. Install the demo template: Demo Project Template → Install Demo Template 

3. Once installed, create a new project:

   • Action: Create New Project

   • Select template: Nextedy POWERSHEET RTM Demo

   • Finish the wizard and open the project home page

4. In the left navigator, expand and select Powersheet Drive

This demo project includes preconfigured views and sample data to help you explore editable RTM scenarios immediately.

b) Set up in an Existing Project

• Powersheet can be connected to any existing Polarion project.

• See: Administration → Nextedy POWERSHEET → Setup → Set up in Existing Projects

• Follow the product-specific documentation linked there to configure reports and views in your own data.

Troubleshooting

If POWERSHEET does not appear after installation:

1. Stop Polarion.

2. Delete the cache folders:

[POLARION_DATA]/workspace/.config
[POLARION_DATA]/workspace/.metadata

2. Restart Polarion.

This forces Polarion to reinitialize the extension configuration and usually resolves recognition issues.

✅ After completing these steps, you will have:

• POWERSHEET plugin installed and licensed

• A demo project with sample data, or

• POWERSHEET enabled in your own Polarion projects
