Modified on Fri, 1 Dec, 2023 at 5:32 PM

This is a new feature available from Nextedy Gantt version 23.9.0.
This feature allows you to set the Polarion project as Working Calendar.

In this documentation, we'll guide you through setting up a Polarion project structure for managing calendars and work items.
Follow these steps for a seamless setup.

Project Administration > Work Items > Enumerations

- Workitem Types:

You need to define the following work item types:
- Calendar;
- Time Off;
- Time On;
- Tweak;

- Link Roles:

Define the relationships between work items:

- Calendar can inherit/be inherited by another Calendar.
- Calendar can be affected by TimeOff, TimeOn, and Tweak.
- TimeOff, TimeOn, and Tweak can affect Calendar.

- Weekday Enum:

Create an enumeration of weekdays, including Monday to Friday, and an "All" option.

Project Administration > Work Items > Custom Fields

Ensure that you set up the required custom fields for each work item type. This is critical for the functionality of your project.

Configuration for custom fields:

- Calendar:

- Tweak:

- Time Off:

- Time On:

Setup Project to Use Work Item Calendar

To enable the "Work Item Calendar" functionality within your project, add the following lines to the Administration -> Configuration Properties of the project:
nextedy.gantt.workitemCalendar.projectId=<PROJECTID>

nextedy.gantt.workitemCalendar.globalID=<WORKITEMID>

- Replace <PROJECTID> with the projectId of the Calendar Project.

- Replace <WORKITEMID> with the work item ID of a calendar type work item that should be used as the global calendar.

If you don't want to create a new one, you can use a placeholder empty calendar.

NOTE! Specify the following configuration properties in both target and source projects.

By following these steps and configurations, you'll have a well-structured Polarion project ready to manage calendars and work items efficiently.

In the following article, we will focus on the functionality that this feature brings.
