Some servers have many active users, but not all of them have assigned tasks for the current project, so you may find it useful to hide users, who don't have any items assigned from the Resource table.
Let's take a look at a real example.
- In this example, Robert Project has no tasks assigned to him.
It may not be so important if you have a small team, but if you have more than 50 users it will make the difference.
In order to filter assigned users, you should perform just one little snippet.
Go to the Administration -> Configuration Properties -> and paste:
gantt.assignee.role=fake_role
- With gantt.assignee.role you can also filter users by specific existing roles, like project_assignable or any others that you use in your project.
- In our case, we don't need to create this fake role, you can actually put everything you want after the "=" sign. The system checks that this role doesn't exist and shows only users with the assigned tasks.
- As you can see now on the screenshot below, we don't see Robert Project anymore, but as soon as he or any other hidden user will get some tasks assigned to him, he will be shown again on the Gantt Resource view.
+ New functionality "Hide No Task Resources" since version 24.1.1
Starting from version 24.1.1 there is a new "Hide No Task Resources" functionality on the Gantt toolbar.
By default, all the resources are shown.
Once you toggle the button, all resources with no tasks are hidden from the Gantt page.
Hide No Task Resources by default:
It is also possible to configure the behavior in a way, that Resources with no tasks are hidden and the button is toggled by default.
To do so, you should add the following snippet into the Polarion Administration (Global or Project) -> Configuration Properties:
nextedy.gantt.resources.hiding=true
