By default, Risksheet shows items from the underlying LiveDocument. This is currently mainly due to performance reasons.
This article explains how to enable branching support from the Risksheet, allow editing referenced work items, and overwrite referenced WIs.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Enable support for referenced WIs
It is possible to enable alternative mode and show items contained or referenced from the current document.
The referenced work items are, as in the Live Document, read-only.
(see the gray border and ID in the first column in italics):
The other contained work items are editable
To enable support for branched documents, go to Polarion Administration > Configuration properties and add the following property:
nextedy.risksheet.branchingSupport=true
Edit Referenced WIs
As mentioned, by default, referenced items are read-only.
It is now (from Risksheet version 23.3.3) possible to override this behavior and make them editable.
To enable support for editing referenced WIs, go to Polarion Administration > Configuration properties and add the following property:
nextedy.risksheet.editableReferencedWorkItems=true
Make sure to enable the support for the branched documents/referenced WIs first.
Example:
- Default view, with enabled branching: WIs in Italic, fields are not editable.
- With enabled edit support: WIs are no longer in Italic, fields are editable.
Allow overwriting referenced WIs
When branching support is enabled, you may now (from Risksheet version 24.10.0) overwrite referenced WIs through the Risksheet interface.
How to overwrite referenced WI:
- Click on the row with the referenced item you wish to overwrite:
- When doing so, you'd get a notification saying that on save, the WI will be overwritten:
- Once saved, the referenced item is overwritten with a new one.
