Set the parent schedule based on the children items

Modified on Tue, 1 Jul at 10:36 AM

In some cases, certain work item types don’t need to be scheduled explicitly. Instead, their schedule should be automatically derived from their child items.

For example, if you want the schedule for a “Portfolio Epic” to be calculated based on its children (such as Capabilities, Features, etc.), you can configure it so that the Portfolio Epic inherits the schedule from those underlying items.

This approach ensures a more accurate and dynamic timeline that reflects the actual progress and dependencies of the work breakdown.
