Risksheet revisions and compare mode

Modified on Wed, 26 Feb at 5:24 PM

Polarion provides detailed traceability on each change of data or configuration. Each change in Polarion creates a new revision (each with a distinct number) in the underlying storage, so users can inspect on who did the change, when, and what was modified.

  • Revisions in the Risksheet are identical to the Revisions in Polarion (edits in the LiveDoc will reflect in Risksheet as well)
  • To see a full list of revisions and baselines go to Menu > History > Open Change log
  • Opening a revision from the menu will open that revision in a new tab

Create and open a Baseline

Baselines are named revisions, which represent an important time point in the lifecycle of an object, e.g. when a document version is approved and ready for implementation. Baselines are then easier to identify, access, and compare.

Creating a document baseline helps make revisions more memorable and allows for faster comparison.

To create a Baseline, go to Menu > History > New Document Baseline > Name the Baseline.

Baselines can also be created on the Document editor through the Actions button (⚙️) in Polarion.

You may also create Project Baselines.

To enable this, go to Polarion Administration > Configuration Properties > Add nextedy.risksheet.includeProjectBaselines=true

To open a Baseline, go to Menu > History > Show Baselines

Compare Revisions

Risksheet compare mode allows you to compare two different revisions of Risksheet or the current revision with any older revision. This helps you easily identify what has been updated.

Applied filters will be automatically removed when entering compare mode (warning box will pop-up in this case)

  • Red cells show the previous value
  • Green cells show the newer value
  • Grey cells with diagonal lines show cells that have not been compared since they are formula based

Comparing the current revision with the Baseline

Go to Menu > History > Show Baselines > Hover over a Baseline and click on it to compare

Comparing the current revision with another revision

Go to Menu > History > Compare to Revision > Enter the revision number manually

Comparing two older revisions

Go to Menu > History > Open Revision > Enter the revision number manually (new tab will open)

In the new tab, go to Menu > History > Compare to Revision > Enter the revision number manually

Show Only Changes

Starting with version 25.2.0, only rows with changes between revisions will be shown by default.

Unchanged rows can be revealed with the funnel button in the toolbar.

Make sure Risksheet is updated to the latest version to maximize its benefits.
